Two students from Norton City Schools, have been selected for VHSL Achievement Award Scholarships. 

Shamiyeh Noel, senior at John I. Burton, received the Scholarship for the Class 1 Academic Activity Participant of the year. She is one of 19 outstanding Virginia High School Student Athletes and academic activity participants to receive the 2022 VHSL Achievement Award scholarship. 

Jaymen Buchanan, senior at John I. Burton, received the Scholarship for Class 1 Male Athlete of the Year. He is also one of 19 outstanding Virginia High School Student Athletes and academic activity participants to receive the 2022 VHSL Achievement Award scholarship. 

The students will be recognized at a luncheon on May 23, 2022 in Charlottesville, VA.
